Charlene Bowen
Charlene has been sharing her love of dance with others for over 40 years - helping to support the community and living her dream of teaching the art of dance.
She enjoys teaching students in the studio - watching them grow from preschoolers to young adults and becoming a part of their lives. In fact, many of Charlene's past students are now bringing their children to the studio for classes.
In addition to Dance Masters of America certification, Charlene travels to various workshops and conventions to continue her education - studying with nationally known instructors to bring new material to her students.
Charlene has served as a director for both the Iowa Dance Theatre's Nutcracker production and a choreographer for their Tap Des Moines event.
Marie Bowen
Marie began taking dance classes at the age of 3 from her mom, Charlene. Growing up as the daughter of a dance teacher, she developed a passion for dancing at an early age and enjoys sharing this with others through both teaching and performing.
Marie has over 30 years of experience in dance and acrobatic/tumbling and has been teaching for more than 10 years. Marie continues to study with nationally-known instructors and is trained in a variety of styles of dance.
A graduate of Grand View University, she holds a B.A. in Business Administration-Management and was awarded a scholarship to be member of the collegiate Competitive Dance Team during all 4 years of her enrollment at GVU.
Marie loves being a part of Charlene’s Dance Studio and involved in the community - sharing her talents in entertainment form every chance she gets.
